Lawn Care Program

At Sunlight Water and Us, we provide professional lawn care services designed to keep your lawn healthy, attractive, and growing strong throughout the season. Our Comprehensive Lawn Care Program combines preventative treatments, ongoing monitoring, and timely applications to help your lawn reach its full potential.

Our standard program includes six scheduled visits throughout the growing season. These applications are tailored to the needs of your lawn and may include fertilization, weed control, crabgrass prevention, grub prevention, disease management, and other treatments as needed.

In addition to our lawn applications, we also offer core aeration, overseeding, and lime applications to improve soil health and encourage thicker, healthier turf.

Each visit serves a specific purpose and is carefully timed to provide season-long results. Our licensed and certified technicians evaluate your lawn throughout the year and make recommendations based on its individual needs.

Because every property is different, we can customize a lawn care program to fit your specific goals and growing conditions. All services are performed by trained professionals licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Below is the list of lawn care services we offer and provide. If you have questions about these services, please feel free to give us a call.

Visit #1: (Mar 1st -Apr 30) This visit includes an early-season fertilizer application and pre-emergent crabgrass control using Barricade. Applications may be done in either liquid or granular form, depending on weather conditions and turf requirements.

Visit #2: (April 1st-May 30) During this visit, we apply fertilizer, a second crabgrass prevention treatment, and a broadleaf weed control to promote healthy growth while preventing unwanted weeds from becoming established.

Visit #3: (May 1st-June 30) This visit includes fertilizer and weed control treatment. Our technicians also inspect your lawn for signs of disease, insect activity, and difficult-to-control weeds such as nutsedge. The weeds will be treated as needed. Soil pH will be evaluated to determine whether a lime application would benefit overall lawn health.

Visit #4: (June 15th-Aug 15) During this visit, we apply preventative grub control along with an insecticide treatment. This is one of the most important applications of the year, as it helps protect your lawn from grub damage and other harmful insects before they become a problem. (Due to state regulations, the products used may vary by location)

Visit #5: (Aug 15th-Oct 15) This visit includes a late summer fertilizer and weed control treatment. This provides nutrients to help the lawn recover from summer stress while controlling broadleaf weeds and preparing the turf for fall growth.

Visit #6: (Oct 1st- Nov 30) This visit includes a winterizing fertilizer application, applied in slow-release granular form. Delivering nutrients that help strengthen root development and prepare for winter dormancy, promoting a healthier and greener lawn the following spring.

Please Note:

*Visits are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

*Visits 3 and 4 may be combined (but billed separately).

*Nutsedge re-treatment is available only for customers enrolled in our full lawn care

  • And much more!

Maintaining a healthy lawn and providing the best lawn treatment programs is usually affected by a variety of factors, such as:

  • Grass type
  • Amount of foot traffic
  • Type and density of existing weeds
  • Soil’s pH level, Soil compaction, and type
  • Weather conditions and the period in the growing season
  • Amount of fertilizer application
  • Pest control methods
  • Weed control solutions, for example, pre-emergent herbicide vs. post-emergent herbicide
  • Availability of compost and essential nutrients, such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide

Knowing whether you have cool-season grass or warm-season grass is usually one of the first steps in implementing effective lawn treatments.

Warm-season grasses are types of grasses that are active in late spring but become dormant in early fall to mid-fall.

Cool season grasses, on the other hand, are a lot more active much earlier in the season, around mid-March (mid-spring) and usually remain active until late fall.

The best time for planting grass seed depends on the grass type that you want. Cool-season grasses are best planted around September or early fall while warm-season grasses should only be planted in late spring or early summer at the latest.

If you are not sure about when to start planting, speak to one of our professional landscapers who can assist you as part of our inclusive lawn care services.

Effective lawn treatment cannot focus on a few lawn problems only and neglect other important requirements of healthy turf. That means reliable lawn care professionals look at everything, from grass roots, shrub care, grass blades, mower blades, and even grass clippings.

In that regard, at Sunlight, Water & Us, we have comprehensive lawn treatment services New Jersey which are comprised of six visits at specific times of the year to address key factors in your lawn treatment process.

These visits are as follows:

  • Visit 1 (March 1st to April 30th) – Weed control, fertilizer application, and pre-emergent crabgrass control
  • Visit 2 (April 1st to May 30th) – Second part of the same issues covered in the first visit
  • Visit 3 (May 1st to July 15th) – Focuses mainly on fungus growth
  • Visit 4 (June 1st to August 15th) – Control of grubs
  • Visit 5 (August 15th to October 15th) – The best time to kill difficult weeds, such as broadleaf weeds
  • Visit 6 (October 1st to November 30th) – Application of winter fertilizer to fortify your grass against the approaching winter and first frost

If you want your lawn treatment program to be as effective as possible, you cannot handle it on your own.

You need to hire professionals with the required knowledge on all things related to lawn treatment, from the development of grass seeds into grass roots to acquiring a perfect lawn that covers the entire yard.

Many things can go wrong with the misuse of, for example, high-nitrogen fertilizer combinations or pre-emergent herbicides.

Therefore, if you do not want to suddenly develop bare spots in your previously dense lawn, let us take care of the overall health of your new grass and ensure that you continue to enjoy a greener lawn any time of the year.

Yes, grub and pest control are some of the main issues that we regularly deal with, especially during the mid to late summer months when we are regularly called to exterminate fire ants and similar insects.

However, for the treatment to be effective, you need to call Sunlight, Water & Us as soon as you notice the problem because pest control needs to be handled quickly before the pests proliferate and cause extensive damage that will leave you with some ugly dead patches throughout your lawn.

Effective Lawn weed control requires an in-depth understanding of the kind of weeds that are invading your lawn and the type of most effective treatment methods.

Sometimes, for problems such as summer weeds, applying a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weeds from developing may be the best course of action while at other times, a strong weed killer applied at the right time will produce the best results.

In any case, homeowners who want to maintain a healthy lawn throughout the year know to call Sunlight, Water & Us and let the experts take care of everything!
